Looking for a story, ace reporter Thomas Jefferson Tyler (Tyrone Power), poses as an admirer to get inside scoop on heiress Sarah Farley (Gene Tierney). But the tables turn when she announces to the world that the two are married. Soon - to his dismay - Tyler is front page news.
