School of Rock: Jack Black - Edited for Educational Use to Teach Children about Rock Music

TO EVERYONE OVER AGE OF 10: OUR EDITS MAKE IT MORE APPROPRIATE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN. This version is still funny, but BUY THE DVD TO WATCH IT ALL UNEDITED. We removed adult language, adult themes, and adult content to allow educational use with children as young as 5 years old in a supervised environment.

School of Rock: MPAA rating PG-13. Release: October 3, 2003.
PG-13: Parents Strongly Cautioned.
Some Material May Be Inappropriate For Children Under 13. A PG-13 rating is a sterner warning by the Rating Board to parents to determine whether their children under age 13 should view the motion picture, as some material might not be suited for them. A PG-13 motion picture may go beyond the PG rating in theme, violence, nudity, sensuality, language, adult activities or other elements, but does not reach the restricted R category.

I made the edits to "School of Rock" so that I could enjoy it with my 5 year old daughter and 9 year old son while still being a responsible parent and protecting them from material that is not age appropriate.

Answers to FAQs:

1) The movie is not rated PG. It is rated PG-13

2) Our parenting includes not allowing our 5 year old daughter and 9 year old to watch PG-13 movies (at their current ages).

3) "Why bother editing it?": because our edits make the content more age appropriate for our 5 year old and 9 year old children. Without the edits, we would not have allowed them to watch it.

4) We do not "censor" our children from everything. They go to public school and our 9 year old son is doing quite well on guitar and has played live shows on stage with a band for a live audience consisting of friends, family, and musicians. Click though to our other videos if you want to see him giving guitar lessons and performing at 7, 8, and 9 years of age.

5) All of our videos educational, non-profit, have no advertising, and produce no revenue for us.
