Shot in and around Lawrence, Kansas in the Summer of 1982, The Day After depicts in a docudrama fashion an all out nuclear attack on the United States - Very much in a style and special effects level of the time period.

...Though it's a relic, it's time for a PROPER transfer from the 35mm release that was shown in Germany a few days prior to the airing in the United States!

...Proper as in, anamorphic DVD and Blu-Ray releases. Which are VERY cheap to produce now... Hopefully without much grain reduction: Such "enhancement" ruins older films.

This version has many small shots which do not appear on the 2004 MGM release.
