Banker Margayya is based on RK Narayan's novel The Financial Expert. Margayya is a normal man who helps and advises poor villagers about getting loans from a Cooperative society. Before the loans get sanctioned from the cooperative banks he gives an advance amount for which he charges interest. These transactions and accounts are maintained in a book by Margayya. Balu, Margayya's mischievous son mistakenly dumps his account book in the water. This creates several problems for Margayya to recover his money as they insist on records. This later becomes the main reason for the fall of Margayya. What will Margayya do now?
