Storyline
Takaki and Akari are two classmates in elementary school. During their time together they have become close friends. Their relationship is tested when Akari moves to another city because of her parents' jobs. Both of them struggle to keep their friendship alive, as time and distance slowly pulls them apart. When Takaki finds out that he is moving further away, he decides to visit Akari one last time.

Dopo il debutto in anteprima al Sundance Film Festival il 24 gennaio 2010, il film è stato distribuito negli Stati Uniti in edizione limitata il 19 marzo 2010 e in tutte le sale il 9 aprile dello stesso anno.
Alia Shawkat ha interpretato il personaggio di Robin, creato a causa di questioni giuridiche che impediscono la rappresentazione della bassista Jackie Fox.
TRAMA
Il film segue le due amiche, Jett e Currie, che, da ribelli ragazze di strada di Los Angeles divengono delle rock star nel leggendario gruppo che ha spianato la strada alle future generazioni di band femminili. Esse vengono influenzate dal produttore Kim Fowley, che trasforma il gruppo in un successo scandaloso. This is a rare low budget gem that fans of Asian splatter will likely get a kick out of. Gory eye candy is on display for much of the running time, and includes some great graphic dismemberment as well as other forms of mutilation. Like another reviewer pointed out, the middle portion of the film goes on too long and could have been shortened to make for a better paced and more enjoyable watch. The whole cult angle is a bit over played but the movie pretty much redeems itself.
Bottom line: If you like stuff such as the guinea pig movies or Story of Ricky then this will be an entertaining flick. There is tons of weird imagery, extreme gore, and the monsters are cool to watch. You may have a hard time finding it, but there's usually one or two available on ebay.
